My Favorite Finds from the ICFF
Hi everyone! This week I'm sharing my favorite finds from the ICFF trade show that I attended a few weeks ago in NYC. This was my first trade show and I didn't really know what to expect. And it was great! I discovered a lot of great vendors with really unique, beautifully made pieces. The furniture was pretty modern for the most part, which I love, but where I was most inspired was through some of the accessories I came across. Here are some of my favorites.
Abnormals Anonymous is a wallpaper line by a husband and wife duo out of Washington State. They have some incredibly quirky (but cool) prints. I posted a shot of their "Mr. Blow" paper on Instagram during the event (see below) but they also some more "safe" options, like little blue anchors that would be cute in a boys room.
MissPrint is a mother daughter duo out of the UK. Their wallpaper had such fresh colors and lots of whimsical prints. I could definitely see using these in many rooms, from kitchens to nurseries. Here's a pic of their Little Trees paper that comes in a range of colors.
Keep is a lighting company out of Brooklyn dedicated to keeping the art of glassblowing alive by creating beautiful, one of a kind light fixtures. You MUST check out this fixture they made for the Gotham Market in Fort Greene - incredible! Here are a few of their pendant lights that would be great above a kitchen island.
Towards the end of the show I stumbled across these lamps from Stone and Sawyer, a maker out of upstate New York. The owner was so thoughtful when speaking about his pieces. I think the colors are spot on for New England homes and the shapes are beautiful.
These plastic (yes plastic) rugs from Pappelina can be used indoors and out. I love the back story about how the company was formed. The founder came across some colorful, plastic ribbons used to make rugs in the 70's and was inspired to create her own modern line of rugs. They come in such vibrant colors and prints. LOVE.
And here's another company called Hidraulik also using non-traditional materials for rugs. These are made of a vinyl-like material and are designed to look like traditional tile floors in Barcelona, however, they are a rug! And if you spill something on them it doesn't matter because it wipes right off. Super cool!
And finally this is clearly not an accessory, but I loved this emerald green, velvet sofa from Suite NYC. I've never seen anything like it and love it. It was paired with some caramel colored chairs and looked really sharp.
I hope to make this an annual thing and can't wait to use some of these in a future client's home.
